During hunts in Africa, it seemed that every kudu I saw was bigger than the next. Each time I poised to shoot, I was always amazed to hear my professional hunting guide turn around and say: "No. He's not big enough yet, but he will be perfect next year." This piece conveys the time in morning when the day's hunting is winding down, and the animals are heading for the cool of the afternoon shade. Although this kudu is not ready to take just yet, he will definitely give the hunter something to dream about as he takes an afternoon nap.
