African Wildlife Paintings

During my time working for a local taxidermist, I came across an unused, antique elephant ear in the back of the shop. The ear was unique in the fact that it was already stretched in the shape of the African continent. As elephant products are nearly impossible to come by, I knew right away that I wanted to somehow personalize it to my experiences during an African safari. Due to the elephant's deep hide texture and the fine hairs covering the entire ear, I found this piece to be extremely unique. It is certainly one of the most challenging and rewarding pieces I have created to date.
